ESS Recruit the Edinburgh based Technical Recruitment specialist has expanded its Scottish presence with a new Ayrshire base.
Director, Craig Jackson said;

My Co-Owner and Director, Bruce Hydes, himself an Ayrshire native, has taken the decision to relocate his family to personally oversee this new venture. I know he is loving being ‘home’ not to mention getting to see his beloved Ayr United more regularly!”
Initially the site will be based in Ayr with plans to grow further in the coming months and years.

Electrical Technician (Assembly)
Location – Wallyford
Hourly Rate - up to £19.44 per hour DoE
Duration – 3-months with the view to going perm
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday – 40 hours per week
ESS Recruit are working with in partnership with our client to source Electrical Technicians for their head office site in Wallyford.
Our Clients’ expertise enables a zero-emission future for power, heat and transport through the design and manufacture of integrated and efficient systems. They are able offer tailored solutions that provide on-site hydrogen generation and refuelling leading to an immediate reduction of carbon emissions and increase in air quality.
Due to an increase in workload they seek a minimum of 2 Electrical Technicians for an immediate start.
As Electrical Technician, you will be working to strict schedules of work and be responsible for Assembly/testing of electrical parts of hydrogen equipment, while keeping a safe and clean workspace.
Reporting to the Lead Engineer on site, duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
* Assembling of electrical cabinets
* Fitting of containment
* Working and helping implement the stock system
* Supporting installation and commissioning the system in the factory and onsite
* Working safely with high voltage and current AC and DC equipment
* Keeping the workspace clean and tidy
* Ensure that the H&S, quality and environment al procedures are followed
* Reporting to Production Manager of any incidents, spillages etc that occur
* Supporting the customer services team
Candidates with more experience may also be required to take on some management responsibility of the electrical team.
Given the nature of the work you will be involved with, our client is ideally seeking candidates with prior experience of working within a manufacturing environment. This role will therefore not ne suited to those that have worked solely within commercial or domestic fit out projects.
In addition, you will demonstrate the following:
* Electrical fitting experience
* Able to read technical drawings
* Materials and manufacturing knowledge.
* Team working
* Good timekeeping
* Problem solving on the job
While not essential, candidates with the below will be considered highly desirable
* Working towards an Electrical Engineering degree or Diploma.
* Able to read P&ID schematics
* Experience with stock control systems
* Has knowledge of control systems PLCs etc.
* Has experience of working with power management systems.
In return, our client is offering a minimum 3-month contract with the view to going permanent. In addition, you will be presented the opportunity to work on interesting projects providing world changing solutions to aid the global transition to renewable and clean energy sources.

Reporting into the cell Leader the Production Operator will join experienced teams working within an electronics assembly group, potentially working in a cleanroom environment. These roles require individuals who are committed to taking personal responsibility, holding themselves and others accountable in a supportive environment. A flexible, proactive mind-set and positive approach to learning and development is take as a given. This role may involve shift work.
Some of your core responsibilities should include:
• Workshop / stores / laboratory type environment
• Assemble small components (1-2mm), work using microscopes or magnifiers
• Solder, crimp, strip cables using hand tools and automatic equipment
• Manufactures quality product within required specifications and process parameters
• Support a safe working environment
• Follow detailed work instructions
• Execute against production schedule, maintain tempo and helping others
• Develop skills and knowledge on Gore products and processes.
• Troubleshoot and disposition of non-conforming material and processes
• Support continuous improvement initiatives – identify opportunities to reduce waste & improve processes.
• Follow cleaning instructions and area organization standards
• Detect and communicate errors
• Assist in basic equipment maintenance
• Handle adhesives, moulding materials,
• Use PC based software for data recording, locating files, work instructions, Product data.
We are looking for bright, motivated and energetic production staff. This will suit Production Operators / Operatives / Associates from a range of manufacturing backgrounds. Ideally you will be experienced in the manufacture, assembly and build of small piece part assemblies, electronics/PCBs or precision electro-mechanical, soldered or cable assembly type products. However, full technical training will be given. We would also look to consider candidates who have to follow engineering drawings or those involved in the manual / assembly and build of intricate products at home or work.

Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panels
Location – Glenrothes
Hourly Rate – £Competitive DoE
Duration – 6-months (+)
Established in 1984, Edgar Stewart’s Client is an established supplier of instrumentation sales, electrical and instrumentation project management, system integration for industrial and process control. They have successfully and continually expanding their customer base, industry knowledge and expertise in a global market to Instrumentation.
Due to an increase in workload they seek an electrical designer with experience of designing control panels for a minimum 6-month contract to be based from their head office in Glenrothes.
As Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for produce quality designs and schematics for our Client’s customers, as well as providing design solutions and production of deliverables to the required standards.
Key duties will include, but not be limited to:
* Design control panel and systems, for various projects, selecting and choosing the correct and appropriate equipment and parts required to manufacture or install systems in-site
* Using E-plan drawing package and Auto-cad, create the electrical schematics for control systems that are fabricated on-site and create further schematics for installation of these systems
* Work efficiently and safely to ensure panels are built on time and customer expectations are met
* Communicate with key stakeholders, seeking clarification on project requirements when required
* Shared line management responsibility of an Apprentice, ensuring specific feedback and on the job training is provided
* Provide remote support over the telephone to our Engineers, assisting them solve problems on-site
* Support engineers on-site when required, assisting with complex problems
* Carrying out feasibility studies for new technical innovations
* Drawing up plans using computer-assisted engineering and design software
* Ensuring H&S processes are followed within the Workshop and on-site
* Develop systems and procedures to improve the department
* Use the relevant IT systems, including E Plan, Auto Cad, SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, Word, Projects and other applications as required
To be considered for this role, you will ideally hold a minimum HND Electrical Engineering qualification coupled with strong design experience within an industrial setting.
In addition, you will demonstrate the following:
* Flexible approach to working, including working within Head Office and on-site at customer locations
* Good knowledge of H&S, risk assessments and safe working practices
* Competent user of E Plan and AutoCAD
* Good grasp of mathematics
* Able to work as a team and independently
* Good time management and planning and organisational skills
* Excellent communication skills, and ability to engage with all stakeholders
* Use expertise and knowledge to make a strong contribution to bids and projects
* Able to solve problems that arise
