Based in Livingston, ESS Recruit’s client comprises of a group of European companies engaged in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of analytical systems, life science equipment and laboratory instruments with operations dating a number of years. They design, develop, supply and support Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry product lines for a range of markets including forensics, food quality, environmental, pharma and life sciences. The company maintains a global infrastructure to support sales around the world. Reporting to the Procurement Manager in this role you will have a varied workload:

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate sourcing activities with the R&D team & manufacturing departments to acquire material and services in a cost effective and timely manner for certain commodities
- Deliver lowest Total Cost to meet margin requirements for the commodity managed based on product priorities
- Optimize commodity spending and provide targeted annual savings
- Perform financial analysis such as NPV, ROI or Total Cost evaluations
- Develop and maintain new supply sources. Conduct quarterly business reviews with key vendors and evaluate assigned performance
- Process and monitor Purchase Requisitions and Identify and resolve inconsistencies
- Analyse and optimise relevant master data in ERP system.
- Manage supplier conformance to the contract and to the expectations of performance to quality, delivery, quantity, service, and cost reduction
- Perform root cause analysis to avoid recurring problems
- Analyse and evaluate delivery problems and implement corrective actions
- Place, monitor and reschedule open purchase orders to meet production demand
- Discuss with R&D and Manufacturing for the best solutions on vendor critical key components
- Creates and update records of vendor master data
- Process and return non-conforming material to the vendor. Implement preventive and corrective actions
