Mon to Thursday - Nightshift 7.45pm -6am.
Headquartered near Edinburgh, ESS Recruit’s client is an independent manufacturing of bespoke engineered products for Energy and future technology markets. The company has successfully carved out a very niche offering to support the future growth in the Liquid Natural Gas shipping industry and as a result they have heavily invested in their Fanuc based machining capability.
They are working with a number of major, blue chip organisations all with major growth aspirations.
They now need to recruit CNC Machinist to deliver significant growth opportunities for the business.
Reporting into the Production Manager key responsibilities will include:

They now need to recruit CNC Machinist to deliver significant growth opportunities for the business.
Reporting into the Production Manager key responsibilities will include:
- CNC programming and operation of multiple CNC based equipment.
- Follow maintenance schedules and carry out routine maintenance. Maintain a plant/equipment maintenance schedule and carry out condition monitoring as requested by the Divisional Supervisor.
- Liaise with Production Manager to ensure full adherence to production schedules and customer orders
- Attend and contribute constructively in staff workshop briefings.
- Contribute to the implementation and continued improvement of the QHSE System to support the wellbeing and safety of all employees
- Operate forklift and handling equipment required to manoeuvre parts and materials.
- Diligently adhere to work instructions, inspection requirements and current legislative requirements
- With local supervisor, monitor equipment & materials to ensure necessary resources to achieve customer requirements.
- Carry out measurement checks for first offs and in-process checks using a range of measurement equipment.
- Experience in fabrication equipment or plasma cutting would be advantageous.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally be time-served or have technical training at machining college or similar educational establishment.
In addition, you will demonstrate the following:
- 3 years minimum experience in a workshop environment.
- 3 years minimum experience with mechanical engineering/machining background – certified in mechanical engineering.
- Experience with Edgecam would be useful
- Ability and flexibility to work well in a small team environment.
- Risk & COSHH Awareness
- CNC Programming, Machine Setting/Operator of Fanuc based Equipment
- Reading technical drawings and technical work instructions
You will also demonstrate experience of the following:
- Demonstrable evidence of FANUC programming
- Clear ability to carry out effective measurement of machined parts using measurement equipment.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK. In addition, you will be Result orientated with sense of urgency whilst quality conscious.
