They now need to recruit CNC Programmers to deliver growth opportunities for the company.
In this role, you will be working as part of the machine shop team in their mechanical division, offering quality and short turn component manufacture.
In this job, your duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Perform mainly Turning and some Milling (if required) to meet customer requirements.
- Operate and set machines, Lathes (both manual & CNC).
- Follow maintenance schedules and carry out routine maintenance. Maintain a plant/equipment maintenance schedule and carry out condition monitoring as requested by the Divisional Supervisor.
- Liaise with Divisional Supervisor to ensure manpower and equipment capacity is adequate to meet workload and customer requirements.
- Attend and contribute constructively to staff workshop briefings.
- Contribute to the implementation and continued improvement of a QHSE System to support the Machining Division.
- Operate overhead crane, forklift and handling equipment required to manoeuvre parts and materials.
- Perform in accordance with work instructions, inspection requirements and current legislation.
- With local supervisor, monitor equipment & materials to ensure necessary resources to achieve customer requirements.
In addition, you will demonstrate the following:
- experience in a workshop environment.
- CNC Programming, Machine Setting/Operator of lathes
- CAM programming experience on 3-4 axis milling machines.
- experience with mechanical engineering/machining background – certified in mechanical engineering.
- Experience with live tooling and Siemen’s controller programming would be an advantage (but not essential).
- Ability and flexibility to work well in a small team environment.
- Risk & COSHH Awareness
- Reading technical drawings and technical work instructions
