HEAD OF CONSTRUCTION QUALITY (BUILDING SURVEYOR)

With locations throughout Scotland, our client is amongst the UK’s largest home improvement companies. It is a highly recognisable and established brand that is synonymous with quality. Due to continuous sales growth and an ongoing commitment towards their customer service philosophy, they have a new permanent opportunity for a Head of Construction Quality, a managerial level role for someone with a Building Surveying background. You can operate from their East or West depots to suit.
This role would be ideal for a dynamic individual looking to develop further into a more senior operational role, you will be part of the operational management board. You will support the ongoing development of the company brand by helping deliver on their unique service philosophy, with a particular focus on quality standards, and training and development. The majority of time will be spent field-based in Central Scotland and occasionally in the North East of Scotland. You will manage and lead a team of circa 8-10 Surveyors, looking at quality, safety and the commercial practicalities of projects.
Key responsibilities:
The successful candidate will also have responsibility for supporting the wider strategic quality goals within the operational division and will report to the Director of Operations. You will drive quality standards and look at the ongoing evolution of quality systems. You will need to be a fully qualified Building Surveyor (essential), as well as possessing the following skills:

- Ongoing development of the quality management systems and installation standards.
- Supporting the operations management team on technical developments within the existing product portfolio.
- Supporting the design team to develop new, modern methods of construction.
- Developing new systems and processes to streamline operational efficiencies.
- Training and development of the large, multi-skilled workforce.
The successful candidate will also have responsibility for supporting the wider strategic quality goals within the operational division and will report to the Director of Operations. You will drive quality standards and look at the ongoing evolution of quality systems. You will need to be a fully qualified Building Surveyor (essential), as well as possessing the following skills:
- Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly self-motivated and innovative.
- Sound knowledge of IT systems.
- Ability to lead, drive change and make business improvements.
