IT SERVICES MANAGER
BASED BELLSHILL SALARY £55-60,000 DOE PLUS EXCELLENT BENEFITS
Headquartered in Bellshill, ESS Recruit’s client is at the forefront of new modern medicinal product development. Their focus is to establish a lead product as a platform in multiple different disease areas and establish end-to-end fully integrated capabilities to manufacture the product at scale. This product will revolutionise how we treat some very serious and in many cases, almost untreatable medical conditions. They now need to make the key hire of an IT Services Manager.
Reporting into the Head of Business Continuity, the IT Services Manager will become the subject matter expert for all IT Services, Infrastructure, Support and Architecture across multiple office, manufacturing, lab and testing sites. You will work in partnership with leaders, key stakeholders, and colleagues to champion the implementation of key IT projects across the business whilst evaluating and recommending changes to our current systems to ensure they meet the business' needs; leading the IT journey from an “As is” state to a “To Be” future position. The relevant candidate is ideally educated to degree calibre in a computing or IT related discipline. This role will suit aspiring IT Service Leaders or IT Service Managers looking to finally run their own IT function. However, it is equally suitable for an experienced IT leader/manager keen to put their own stamp on something and help see a really ambitious life sciences SME mature into a larger digitised business.
We would be especially keen to hear from any IT leaders who have worked in a heavily regulated or manufacturing type environment; this could include; pharmaceuticals, life sciences, biotechnology, medical devices, aerospace, chemicals, FMCG and automotive. You will need to be a strong generalist and ideally show how to grow and develop an IT function and infrastructure as a business grows around you.
This role represents an incredible opportunity for an IT Services Leader/Manager to take control of the function and grow the capability along with your career. An excellent base salary of £55-60,000 DOE is supplemented by share options, company bonus, private health care, pension and 33 days leave. There is also some flexibility around hybrid working.

- Be the primary IT operational and strategic interface within the business, working with external partners and bringing key capabilities in-house.
- Set up and execute the IT strategy in partnership with 3rd party services firm to support drug product registration, clinical release and commercialisation.
- Support the development and roll-out and management of new Apps.
- Support GMP inspection management and inspection readiness activities, and act as the SME for IT.
- Maintain focus on the whole life of Digital Service delivery (designing, developing, delivering and operating).
- Work with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers to conduct life cycle management for Digital Services assets including hardware, software, intellectual property, licences and warranties.
- Manage usage, disposal, compliance, inventory, sustainability, cost optimisation and protection of the asset portfolio.
- Recognise the potential for automation of processes, determine costs and benefits of new approaches, and manage change / implementation.
