PRODUCTION OPERATORS (SOLDERING)

Based in Livingston, ESS Recruit’s client is a well-established global business. They are a high technology equipment supplier into the research sector and currently enjoying a period of high growth. Ongoing growth and expansion plans mean they now need to make the key hire of Production Operators with wiring and soldering experience.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Operators will be responsible for the wiring and electromechanical assembly of various photonics products, electrical sub-assemblies, and custom designed equipment in accordance with production documentation.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Operators will be responsible for the wiring and electromechanical assembly of various photonics products, electrical sub-assemblies, and custom designed equipment in accordance with production documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture, wire and assemble electronic and mechanical components and sub-assemblies and to integrate them into the products as required.
- Hand soldering - conventional and surface mount.
- Ensure that the specification and manufacturing standard of electronic wiring complies with required international standards and safety regulations.
- Ensure that all electronic wiring is carried out in compliance with formulated Quality procedures.
- Adhere to all internal Company policies and health & safety procedures.
- Liaise with the Inspection and Test areas of the Company and suggest remedies to minimise Non-Conforming Reports and product rework.
- Ensure that all equipment is correctly used, stored, and maintained.
- Relevant work experience in electronic wiring, PCB population and assembly coupled with a systematic and thoughtful approach
- Practical experience in electrical production techniques, PCB assembly, soldering, wiring, crimping, etc.
- Practical experience in wiring sub-assemblies and looms with minimum supervision from wiring schedules and diagrams.
- The ability to recognise standard electronic components both conventional and surface mount.
