PRODUCTION TEAM LEAD
BASED LIVINGSTON – SALARY EXCELLENT TO £42,000 PLUS BENS
Based in Livingston, ESS Recruit’s client comprises of a group of European companies engaged in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of analytical systems, life science equipment and laboratory instruments with operations dating a number of years. They design, develop, supply and support Gas Chromatography (GC) and Mass Spectrometry (MS) product lines for a range of markets including forensics, food quality, environmental, pharma and life sciences. The company maintains a global infrastructure to support sales around the world. Reporting to the Operations Manager in The Netherlands, in this role you will have a varied workload. Manufacturing is in both The Netherlands and Livingston and the R&D department is based in Livingston.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this Production Team Lead role is a key part of their ambitious plans for UK production and manufacturing growth. You will be responsible for the day to day running of their brand new high performance MS production facility in Livingston.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this Production Team Lead role is a key part of their ambitious plans for UK production and manufacturing growth. You will be responsible for the day to day running of their brand new high performance MS production facility in Livingston.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the cleanroom production facility to ensure the complex electro-mechanical products are produced on time to a pre-determined production schedule, made to specification and correct configuration, fully documented and traceable within the internal ERP system
- Day to Day management of a small production team (2-5) including workload planning against preprepared production schedules.
- Management of the production facility to ensure that all equipment remains operational and that activities are conducted within the existing HS&E risk measures.
- Managing the warehousing within the production facility ensuring deliveries and shipments are correctly entered in the ERP system (EPICOR)
- Conducting and documenting goods in inspections of mechanical and electrical components and sub-assemblies against preprepared inspection criteria.
- Ensuring product quality through monitoring, sign off and recording of test results produced by the production team.
- Lead troubleshooting activities on modules or units that have failed quality control inspections/tests through Conducting root cause analysis activities
- Manage any changes to product definition (e.g. BoM alterations, ECO issues etc)
- Assist the procurement team with management of suppliers to ensure delivery of parts/subassemblies to cost, delivery schedule and specification.
