Project Manager (Operations) – Wave Energy
Based in Edinburgh or Aberdeen

Based in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, I am excited to be working in an exclusive partnership with a leading wave energy business. It’s expert team combining scientific principles and real-world experience to develop new renewable technologies which can harness the power of waves.
With offshore proven technology its first product is a small wave energy converter (WEC) is used to power subsea equipment, supporting the energy transition in the oil & gas (O&G) industry. Future products will address industries from ocean science to utility-scale power.
While wave energy companies of the past have focused on large, utility-scale devices, our client develops products targeted at niche markets where wave energy has a significant value proposition.

To support the next phase of its growth it is now seeking applications for the position of Project Manager with a strong operational background.
Duties
The ideal candidate will be educated to Bachelors, Masters or Phd level (or equivalent experience). This should be complemented with relevant work experience in science, physics or engineering preferably related to offshore technologies and experience with electrical machines. Work experience in marine operations would also be an advantage.

Duties
- Manage complex technical projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Work alongside the technical team and contractors to deliver R&D and operational projects, with a particular focus on projects in the operational phase.
- Work alongside the commercial and operational teams to support commercial efforts.
- Interface with project funders
- Manage the full lifecycle of prototype and product development including design, build, commissioning, and offshore testing.
- Use IT for project management including Microsoft Project and SharePoint
- Write-up and present project related documentation information
- Keep project and systems organised.
- Delegate tasks and track completion.
- Engage in training and development courses to progress skills and capabilities.
- It is likely that travel will be required, within the UK and possibly overseas.
