Based in Livingston, ESS’ client is a well-known and highly successful life sciences and medical device business. From their GMP design and manufacturing site in Livingston, the company supports medical and life science products in a range of markets including; orthopaedics, aesthetic dermatology and ophthalmology. The business is going through unprecedented growth in terms of demand, output and new staff. In order to continue their development as a site, they now need to make the key hire of a proven Quality Assurance Engineer / Senior Quality Assurance Engineer.
Reporting into the site Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Engineer will participate and/or lead key aspects of the existing Quality Management System (QMS). You will take responsibility for managing non-conformance processes to ensure the business looks for improvements in both quality and process efficiency. Other key responsibilities will include:
- Managing Non-Conformance Reports and CAPA, working with department heads to determine root cause and ensure timely closure
- Perform Internal Audits to ISO13485
- Perform Supplier Audits
- Responsibility for relevant quality KPIs
- Identify and participate in continuous process improvement projects
- Customer Complaints handling through to resolution
The relevant candidate will be educated to degree calibre in a technical or scientific discipline (chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or biology preferred). The successful candidate is a proven quality assurance professional from within the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical devices sectors. Ideally, you are well versed in auditing internally and externally to ISO 13485 standards and can bring a range of lean and CI tools and quality improvement tools to this role.
