REPAIR TECHNICIAN (ELECTRONICS / DEBUG / TEST ENGINEER / TECHNICIAN)

Based in Cumbernauld ESS’ client is part a multi-national group, who design, manufacture, build and test of gas analysers and gas emission monitoring systems. Their equipment is found in a range of industrial settings and applications, including petrochem, FMCG and hazardous engineering environments. As part of their ongoing ramp up they now need to make the key hire of a Repair Technician.
As a Repair Technician, you will be responsible for the incoming repair of factory returned gas analysis equipment, carrying out the repair and full test of the units prior to being returned to the field.
This role requires an individual who can work on their own initiative, diligent, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate results and observations in both written and verbal forms. You will have close interaction with multiple disciplines across the company, including Manufacturing, Instrumentation, Engineering and Service. Other key responsibilities are likely to include:

- Carrying out of repair and test of the field returns which could involve the following:
- o Disassembly, parts replacement, and full reassembly of the returned units
- o Carry out component test of lasers and detectors when required
- o Optical alignment of gas sensor sub-components including optical cells and laser modules
- o Full system test of repaired production gas analytical equipment
- Maintain a repair tracking system to log all work and failures
- Work with the Service Team Leader to set up reasonable repair times and metrics and work to meet and beat them
- Feedback to design teams on all failures of our products to aid continuous improvement
- Maintain the work area to a safe and clean status, working to ESD procedures where necessary
- Be an active member of the team, contributing ideas for continuous improvement at all levels within the company
