STOCK CONTROLLER

Our client is the largest importer of ceramic and porcelain tiles in Scotland and a family business. Continued commercial success means their business is now seeking to hire a Stock Controller to complement the current friendly team based in the head office at Murrayfield. Their products are mainly sourced in Italy, Spain and the UK and they supply a range of commercial and retail customers across Scotland and the UK.
They require an experienced Stock Controller to join the Operations team. The successful candidate will be expected to learn the processes and carry out all stock analysis and some buying activities. This will involve learning to use the existing ordering and stock management IT system.
This is a critical role within the Operations function and over time you will be expected to help develop the purchasing function, improving processes and procedures to manage the systems and suppliers better.

Responsibilities:
- Review core stock position and make buy recommendations
- Create and place stock and special order purchase orders with supply chain
- Manage stock call-off orders with supply chain
- Manage ancillaries stock levels and ordering for branches
- Arrange weekly shipments with freight forwarders (containers, groupage etc.)
- Manage inbound logistics plan, confirming delivery dates as required
- Maintain Purchase Order Status report, confirming delivery dates as required
- Maintain ERP product master data and pricing
- Purchase non-stock items and services as required
- Analysis and control of business expenses and contract services
- Reconcile delivery notes, GRNs and invoices
- Stock take record keeping, adjustments and stock error investigations
- Inventory management (ABCD categorisation of stock and pareto analysis and Identification of clearance and obsolete stock / Managing stock KPIs (Inventory value, stock turn etc.)
- Supplier performance management
- Supplier visits and relationship management
- Advanced ERP user training
